Hey I saw some off the bike path on the way to the beach tonight and thought of this picture.
The closed buds caught my attention a few weeks ago. Apparently they like the sandy soil.
I agree. Those buds are cool. But I wouldn't have known what I was looking at this evening if not for your picture. I would have had to come home and search for an ID.
Glad I could help. Actually been updating the weed atlas this summer. Bigger pics, clean up the messy formatting too.
