In The Beginning

God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and God said, Let there be compost, to replenish the earth; and then God said, But you must choose it, and make it in all seasons, and you must site it appropriately, for ease of doing it, and for aesthetics of sight and scent. And God commanded it, so it was done, there, behind the wood pile.

  1. Number one on my spring list is rescuing my compost pile from the groundhog who chose to build his/her new next under it! Last spring when I turned it over to use the good dirt, I got it half used and then the 'hog's hole appeared. Decided to let him have it for a season, but I need the rest of the dirt next spring - as well as having a pile that desperately needs turning! It will be an interesting challenge ... buy home grown compost is totally necessary!

If I do not respond to your comment right away, it is only because I am busy pulling out buckthorn, creeping charlie, and garlic mustard...
